During an era prior to the implementation of basketball's three-point shot, the Class of 1971's Ken Dorr achieved what some might deem today near the impossible when he culminated his three-year varsity basketball career with the Red Raiders as the school's first-ever 1,000-point scorer. Finishing the vaunted 1970-71 basketball season with 1,056 points, Dorr tallied a total of 390 points for an average his senior year of 15.0 points per game on a team that featured - including himself - five first team Capeway Conference All-Stars, a school record 25 straight victories and Barnstable High School's only state championship title in basketball. No team in the 85-year history of basketball at Barnstable High School has ever matched that season's 25-1 campaign and it was one that many say was achieved by the greatest team not only at BHS but all of Cape Cod.
