Red Raider Weightlifting Program

Conditioning Directors Refurbish Conway Building Training Room

With special thanks to an anonymous donation of $3,000, the BHS Red Raider weight training directors and other volunteers have installed a new rubber floor in the weight training room at the Robert Conway Building/Building M adjacent to W. Leo Shields Memorial Field. Directors who are running the afterschool and pre-season football weightlifting training sessions include BHS Red Raider alumni John Ellis, Kim Christian (Capt. 1980) and Mark Thompson.

All BHS student-athletes are eligible to train in the weightlifting room. Please inquire with athletic director Steve Francis if you would like to participate.

Agility and Speed Training Offered at the High School Gymnasium

Agility and speed training will be offered to all Barnstable High School athletes starting Tuesday, March 1, 2005.  Any athlete interested in working on their speed and agility can meet at 2:15 p.m. at the gym.  The sessions will be every Tuesday and Friday at 2:15 p.m.  See Coach Demanche for additional details.

As a reminder, weight training is offered every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evening in the Conway Building Weight Training Center.  All football players are encouraged to participate in some kind of weight training program in the off-season even if they participate in another sport.  The weight training camp is free.  Begins each evening at 5:30 p.m.
