Michelle Cunningham is widely regarded as one of the best natural athletes ever to graduate from Barnstable High School.

Having never played the sport of volleyball prior to high school, Michelle led the Red Raiders to its 1st volleyball State Championship in 1993 which also marked the first girl’s state championship in the school's history. Her dominance and skill at the setter position was recognized by her 1993 and 1994 selections as a Boston Herald All Scholastic and as a Boston Globe ‘Super Team’ All Scholastic. This three-sport athlete went on to captain her basketball team in her junior year and earn Old Colony League All-Star status as in softball as a junior and a senior.

Michelle went on to a successful college career at Eastern Connecticut State University as a four-year volleyball and softball player highlighted by being selected a 2nd Team NCAA Softball All American in 1998.
